This was a really fun project that had great results! These were created by 3-5 year olds with their parents' help. These would make great gifts!
1.) Roll out a slab of clay.
2.) Cut a circle out using a lid or other template.
3.) Using underglaze, dip the child's thumb in the color and press it around the rim of the bowl. Re-dip the thumb in the underglaze for each print.
4.) Paint the child's hand with the underglaze. Have them spread their fingers and carefully press the hand into the center of the bowl.
5.) Add the child's name and any other details (optional).
These bowls were bisqued to cone 05, dipped in clear glaze, then re-fired to 05.
