Materials: Clay, red and blue underglazes, star cookie cutters and stamps
1.) Roll out a 1/4'' slab and cut it into a circle.
2.) Add a pattern around the rim.
3.) I painted slabs of clay with red and blue underglaze, then let them dry a bit so they were not longer tacky. The kids used star cookie cutters to cut stars out of the colored clay slabs and scored and slipped them to their circles. Some of the kids used a wooden stick to scratch designs into the stars.
Finished bowls drying in the sun! I set them up on plaster bowl molds (or you can use some newspaper scrunched up) then flipped them over.
