Initial Stamps

Materials: small post-it notes, ballpoint pens, 2'' foam squares, 8'' construction paper squares, ink pads, brayers

1.) Students created 3 different compositions on their post-it notes using all 3 of their initials and other designs and shapes. They chose one of these for the project.

2.) They created a stamp by pressing their design into a foam square. They gridded a piece of construction paper with a 2'' cardboard strip and did a test print in their sketchbooks.

3.) They pressed the stamps into an ink pad, then used a brayer to print them on the construction paper. They rotated the stamp 90 degrees for each print.
