Clay Slab Fish

These are fun! They can be slabs or turned into little dishes like the one in the top right corner!

Materials: clay, rolling pin, texture tools, underglaze, glaze

1.) Roll out a slab. Using a circle template, draw and cut a tail. 

2.) Trace around the circle and cut it out. 

3.) Cut a mouth out with a triangle or circle. 

4.) Add lines to the tail with a Popsicle stick. 

5.) Press scales with a Popsicle stick. 

6.) Add an eye.

7.) Add a fin.

The fish were dried, bisque fired, painted with underglaze, dipped in clear glaze, and fired to cone 05!
